A WORD OF CAUTION TO PARENTS: HORROR MOVIE CONTROVERSY

Our son Kazz gets a kick out of his Aunt Kathy. She absolutely LOVES every Horror Movie that there is to be seen. She loves them to the point that she can pick them apart, tell you where they went right or wrong in making the movie and explain point by point how it could have been better.

I have a feeling, however, that THIS movie will be different. I just watched the trailer for this one to see if I will allow our teen son to view it and I found THE TRAILER to be too disturbing. However, Kazz's Aunt...will probably love it for its artistic adventure. I, as a parent however, understand the controversy over this movie because this movie is one of the only UNRATED movies to ever be released into public theaters.

The movie, Frontier(s) is opening in Southgate, which is only a hop, skip and a jump from our home here in Detroit. The buzz from parents is that because it is UNRATED, teens younger than 18 years of age will be able to view it. It is too late, right now, for me to call the theater to find the answer for myself but I won't need to do that anyway because, from just viewing the trailer, I know our son won't be going.

I'm going to let his Aunt check it out first. If she deems it appropriate from an artistic stance he may go, but until then...it's nixed!
