The Longleaf Alliance
This website provides a virtual ecosystem tour of an old growth Longleaf
Pine forest. Longleaf Pines, are located in the Southeastern United States
and in 1996 researchers found that less then 0.01% of the remaining Longleaf
Pine forests would be considered old-growth.
The following links will take you to more information on some of the unique plants and animals that may be encountered in the longleaf pine forest.
